VALMIKI RAMAYAN contains lot of additions, alterations made subsequently and accepting the fact that Ramayan, Mahabharat, and all Puraans are also coded, the history that they contain, actually has to be culled out. RAMCHARITMANAS written by Goswami Tulsidas Ji, also followed the same pattern except that it ignored altogether, the incident of disownment of Sita. Let us analyze the events preceding the abduction of Sita as provided in Valmiki Ramayan and what possibly could actually have happened, and for that we need to ignore the use of supernatural powers assigned to various characters.
We also need to appreciate, how the events as described in Ramayan, with supernatural power actually show Shri Ram, an incarnation of lord Vishnu in bad light, and need to publicly reject this.
After disfiguring of Surpnakha and subsequent fight with Khar Dushan and their death, it is alleged that Shri Ram, using his divine powers to send Sita for ‘safe keeping’ with Agni dev, and kept the shadow of Sita instead. And this Shri Ram did when Lakshman was away so that no one knew about it.
But when Sita returned after victory over Ravan, Shri Ram asked Sita to perform Agni Pariksha, as Agni Pariksha was a religious ritual which if satisfactorily performed, certified the chastity of the female. In this particular incident, is is alleged, it allowed Agni Dev to return ‘Real’ Sita back. Is it not hypocrisy?
Ram did no such things.
Since Agni Pariksha at that time had religious sanctity, Ram actually asked Sita for Agni Pariksha, because as victorious army chief, he wanted to return to Ayodhya with his wife, whose piousness was accepted by religion. After all she was going to be the queen of Ayodhya.
Now let us understand the scientific growth of the time plus the information available to the societies because of this growth. We know there were aero planes during that period and SHIV DHANUSH, the weapon of Mass destruction (WMD) was getting dismantled, whereas even in today’s developed scenario WMDs are NOT yet getting dismantled. So civil societies, during those times had had equal, if not better information.
Obviously then this question need to be answered; what did Ravan tell the world after he had abducted Sita ?
No, he certainly could NEVER have had said that he had abducted her; no person howsoever weak he or she may be in diplomacy would say that. On the contrary what he said was that Sita volunteered to come with him and that as BHIKSHUK when he had visited Ram’s cottage in forest, she offered herself as bhiksha to me. As a Brahmin he was in a fix. Dharm did not allow him to refuse such bhiksha, and so he did the next best thing. He accepted the bhiksha but kept Sita in Lanka away from her palaces in a beautiful garden.
This also gets support from the existing stories one could hear in eastern Uttar Pradesh regarding refusal of Brahmins of Ayodhya in performing RAJ TILAK (Coronation) of Ram. This forced Ram and organizers of his coronation team to call Brahmins from Varanasi, who performed the coronation. Since then Brahmins who performed coronation of Ram are called Saryu-Pari and those who did not Kany-Kubj, and even till today they do not have relations including marriages. This is VERIFIABLE from any old Brahmin of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
And it was only in this regard trip of Hanuman to Lanka to meet Sita was important, apart from ascertaining who from Lanka would support Ram, which was strategic.
So there was wide spread resentment in Ayodhya regarding the conduct of Sita created by the information or ‘misinformation’ spread by Ravan after he had abducted Sita.
And what exactly did the sacrifice made by Sita and Ram established?
For the first time in the history of the current Mahayug starting from Satyug, people started doubting the religious sanctity accorded to Agni Pariksha, and they started believing that Agni Pariksha did not and could not certify the piousness or chastity of female.
Result of Agni Pariksha need not be accepted and they wanted Sita to be tried only on the basis of physical evidence.
It is only in this respect, disownment of Sita in a public TRIAL after rejection of Agni Pariksha is important. Shri Ram and Mata Sita suffered a lot to provide reasonable respectable conditions for females by abolishing Agni Pariksha. One can read details of full trial by visiting this link : AGNI PARIKSHA OF SITA ....FACTS
The surprises and SHAME on us is as follows:
How Dharm Gurus manipulated religious texts and RE-ENSURED continuous exploitation of females, including Agni Pariksha, which is prevalent, even today in the Hindu Society.
Jago Hindu Jago !
