Hanuman was a VAANAR and certainly not a Monkey

There is still some serious confusion whether Hanuman Jee was a monkey or a Vaanar. Before this question is answered, it is extremely important to translate the Sanskrit word Vaanar. Vaanar as the name suggests means person residing in Van or forest.
We know that human being have evolved through the long process of nature called EVOLUTON. Manu, who had ended his journey at the start of the Kalp, did provide to the new Kalp/Mahayug some Human being who had managed to survive the fury of Sea life. They started living in areas, after clearing it and creating shelters from weather and seasons.
After a fairly long period of time, in the forest, after the evolution of various animals, human beings also evolved. They had tails, were fearsome, but simple. The older generations of mankind were now living in settlements. These were called kingdoms. They refused to recognize the evolved humans in forest as Humans. For details one can read : HINDU HISTORY... START OF A NEW KALP

They were called VAANARS as they had evolved in VAN, which is the Sanskrit name of forest.

Though living in the forest and having a tail, Hanuman was able to receive education, was highly intelligent, and was as such respected in Vaanar community. So when Vaanars were being sent to search for Sita, and when they reached the coast, it was Hanuman who took upon himself to cross the sea.

It is usually believed that Hanuman crossed the sea by taking a big, long, huge and SUPER NATURAL jump. However this seems unlikely for two reasons:

1. There is mention of some type of Radar system installed in Lanka, which could identify flying objects. Hanuman, in order to avoid that must have walked and swam while crossing during low tide. It is mentioned that Hanuman destroyed this…TRUE! But why would Hanuman ji destroy this while going to Lanka, and jeopardize the entire operation? And how would he destroy this? He was on the other side of the Lanka coast while going to Lanka. He did destroy this while returning, as then it is clearly mentioned he destroyed lot of things in Lanka, and some must have been extremely strategic.

2. It is clearly mentioned that while going towards Lanka, he was threatened by a huge fish. Fish is water born creature and large fish can only be found in sea and not in air space.

No, Hanuman ji swam across sea, walking where ever the water was less, and as such he reached Lanka undetected. Here in water, he could hide his body by partially submerging under water, and could remain undetected.

The other thing that is slightly off track, but needs mention here is that the bridge or RAM SETU was built by Vaanars, and not by monkeys. As such RAM SETU is manmade and certainly NOT monkey made.

The other issues pertaining to Vaanars need an answer in this post is:

Why did Ram refuse permission to Angad when he so desperately wanted to stay in Ayodhya?

We have already mentioned that there was animosity between Kingdoms and settlements in Jungle of Vaanars. The hatred and mistrust between people living in forests and people living in kingdom was so serious that the people of Ayodhya would have seriously opposed the permanent stay of Angad in Ayodhya as he had not taken an oath of Bhramcharya, while, since Hanuman had already promised that he would never marry and have children, was acceptable to people of Ayodhya.

This fact should not be missed by the rulers of democratic India. Hindus are in majority over here and there views and feelings must be taken into account while granting Visa to non Indians.

From one point of view you may be right. But how would Aanjaneya had taken the mountain while Laxman has been hurt in the war?

Respected Sir
I am a syudent in BHU.I am appreciating your research about Ramayan.Still I some have doubts
-Agni pariksha of Sita. What it really was?
-How Ram can make alive a stone by just puting his foot over it?
-Why Hanuman ji is called Pavan Putra?Few people says that he was born due to blessings of Pawan Devta from the womb of mata Anjani.
-If Hanuman ji had a machine to fly,why he went alone to Lanka not with his companions?
-From where Hanuman ji took his education in forest as that time also Aryans were ruling and they had problems with education of Dravinas or local residents of India?

Deepa Ji,

Thank you very much for your comments. I will try to answer all your questions here. Of course if you had gone through the various posts of this blog you would have got the answer yourself.

Since I cannot use more than 4000 characyters for the answer, I will reply in two parts :
However since you have said that you are a student, I have to go one step further and request you to verify the correctness of the answer. How are you going to do that? Hnhhn? Simple!

Remember whenever in doubt that what is being said is correct or wrong, we must have a reference point which could decide that how much we are deviating from correct answer.
My reference point is the Hindu society, and how the things that are being said here will affect them.

Q: regarding Agni Pariksha: Please note there was serious exploitation of females during Pre Ram era,, in which Dharmic leaders were also involved. Agni Pariksha represents the brute exploitation of females using Dharm. Shri Ram and Mata Sita established Agni Pariksha as an ADHARM. How? I am afraid to avoid repeating what has been stated in details in the post, I would request you to read the following posts:

c. Pre Ram Era..Dharm used for exploitation of females..Ram ended this

However since the blog is dedicated to remove misconception about Ramayan, it is better you read all posts and help in removing misconception about Ramayan.

Q: How Ram can make alive a stone by just putting his foot over it? It has been stated on every page of this blog, at the top of the page itself that this blog author does not believe in SUPERNATURAL or MIRACULOUS powers.

The answer is obvious. Gautam Rishi became extremely angry and furious for the alleged indecent behavior of Ahaliya, and next thing we know is she was no longer alive. This has been explained in detail along with definitions in post: “INTERPRETATION and INTERPOLATION in Ramayan”. Ahaliya became stone can only be explained by accepting that the death of Ahaliya was Interpolated to say that she got converted into stone. Deepa, you have to help me in removing the misconceptions.

Q: Regarding Pawanputra Hanuman: answer is in Post: “Vaanars were not monkeys but evolved humans in Ramayan”..The necessary answer is there.

However a few lines are quoted here.” We have been deceived in the name of religion for far too long. According to one version, ANJANI the mother of Hanuman was NOT a MONKEY. She was the daughter of Gautam Rishi and Ahaliya. She got pregnant without marriage, and in order to avoid further humiliation she was sent towards Hills, where she gave birth to Hanuman. She handed the child to his rightful father Kesari. It is believed that she was not even allowed to meet Kesari, so she threw Hanuman from a cliff and Kesari on the ground below caught hold of Hanuman. Since he came by air route, he is also called Pavanputra.”

Q: If Hanuman ji had a machine to fly, why he went alone to Lanka not with his companions? He was on a mission to ascertain the safety and whereabouts of Sita, not for a combat.

Q: From where Hanuman ji took his education in forest as that time also Aryans were ruling and they had problems with education of Dravinas or local residents of India?
Ans: I don’t know why in this information age we are still confused about Aryans and Dravidians. Dravidians is the name coined by Britishers to divide and rule. Before that there was no such word in any vocabulary of Indian languages.

Aryans means ‘purest one’. Pl. read my post: HINDU HISTORY... START OF A NEW KALP to get the answer. However I am putting in some lines as Quote: “However human civilization has always been cruel on other beings. They started exploiting these two legged animals as slaves, and as animals. They refused to recognize them as human beings although they were now developing into same. The exploitation was cruel and inhuman to say the least. Here was the first batch of human beings of the new kalp-very pure and innocent (Aryans as one would like to call them in Sanskrit), and the batch of survivors of the older kalp-whose antecedents were not known, were torturing them instead of welcoming them.”

Q: If Hanuman ji had a machine to fly, why he went alone to Lanka not with his companions? He was on a mission to ascertain the safety and whereabouts of Sita, not for a combat.

This was already answered by the author. Technological radars which he had to avoid to shut down the system in his return to his companions.
The friends could not come because he had obviously traveled by water. Proven with the fish example.

As for the flying machine. It is stated elsewhere that Ravan trapped his flying, most likely by trapping a flightstation.
There I hope you now feel enlightened.

ABOUT MY BLOG: One has to accept that Hindus, though, highly religious, are not getting desired result as a society. Female feticide, lack of education for girls, dowry deaths, suicides among farmers, increase in court cases among relatives, corruption, mistrust and discontent, are all physical parameters to measure the effectiveness or success/failure of RELIGION, in a society. And all this, despite the fact, that spending on religion, by Hindus, has increased drastically after the advent of multiple TV channels. There is serious problem of attitude of every individual which need to be corrected. Revival of Hindu religion, perhaps, is the only way forward.

I am writing how problems, faced by Indian people can be sorted out by revival of Hindu Religion.
